A person has been killed in a clash between two local groups over establishing supremacy and acquisition of land properties in Khankhanabadh union under Bashkhali upazila in Chittagong.
Didar was killed in the clash that occurred around 1:30pm on Wednesday.
Satkania Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Imran Bhuiya said: “There was a long standing conflict between local Didar and Ansar groups.”
“Following the matter, both the groups locked into a clash in the afternoon that killed Didar,” he said.
He said: “Police detained eight people in a drive conducted in the area after the incident. Didar as well as the detainees are accused in various cases.”
