A total of 97.92% students have passed in the Primary School Certificate (PSC) while 95.98% passed in Ebtedayee examinations.
The pass rate was 98.58% last year.
A total of 2,36,441 primary and 6,541 Ebtedayee students got GPA-5.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced the results at the Secretariat at 11am on Tuesday.
After the announcement, the results will be available at the educational institutes. The results can also be known through SMS and on the website of the education board.
Earlier in the morning, the minister ceremonially handed over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Nearly 31 lakh examinees appeared in PSC and Ebtedayee examinations.
A total of 27,88,544 pupils attended the Primary Terminal Examinations this year. Of them, 12,82,079 are boys and 15,06,465 are girls.
As many as 3,05,721 examinees took part in the Ebtedayee examinations. Of the total examinees, 1,57,448 are boys and 1,48,273 are girls.
