A female school teacher has died when pickets threw stones at her in Noakhali during the 20-party alliance's hartal.
Deceased Shamsunnahar, 37, was a teacher of Agargaon Tawhid Laboratory School in Dhaka.
Sudharam police station Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain said: “She was rushed to Abdul Malik Ukil Medical College where the duty doctor declared her dead around 10:15am on Monday.”
Shamsunnahar’s husband Shahjahan Siraj was also injured during the attack, the official said.
Shajahan said: “We were moving to Noakhali as I got transferred here from Dhaka. The pickets started hurling stones when we reached Maijdi Municipal Bazar area in the morning.”
