Do-or-die for Sheikh Jamal

Update : 07 Feb 2014, 04:24 PM

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will take on Mohun Bagan in a crucial group B match of the 118th IFA Shield at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata today and a draw will not be enough for the Bangladesh Premier League side to progress to the last four. Star Jolsha is likely to telecast the match live at 3.30pm.

It will be a do-or-die match for the Dhanmondi outfits as they must beat the Kolkata giants in their third and final group match today to move to the next round. With one win and one loss, Jamal now have three points while Mohun Bagan has four.

Jamal, the Federation Cup champions, is likely to field the same squad that beat Sikkim United 3-1 last Wednesday, with Haitian striker Wedson Anselme scoring a brace.

“The team is in good shape and everyone is fit. The spirit is high after the victory in the last game. We are prepared to face Mohun Bagan,” said Jamal manager Anwarul Karim Helal yesterday.
