A picnic trawler carrying 50 passengers capsized in the Meghna River in Tazumuddin upazila of Bhola district.
However no one was reported to be injured in the incident, which took place yesterday around 3pm at Katakhali area of the river.
Chachara union parishad Chairman Abu Taher said two trawlers hired by Friends Club of Lalmohan upazila were going to Monpura with about 150 passengers.
“At one point, the trawler driven by Jasim hit a hidden shoal and capsized. However, passengers of the other trawler rushed to the spot and rescued all the passengers,” he added.
