The two-day long Marcel Television Victory Day Open Boxing, comprising 90 male and 25 female boxers of the country, begins at the Muhammad Ali Boxing stadium today. The boxers will be taking the ring in 23 different weight categories.
Bangladesh Boxing Federation general secretary MA Quddus Khan said the tournament will be the perfect warm-up for the boxers ahead of the upcoming Indo-Bangladesh Bangla Games. “We will select 10 boxers for the camp and five will represent Bangladesh in the Games.”
Walton additional director FM Iqbal bin Anwar Dawn and Marcel assistant director Rabiul Hossian Shumon revealed the details of the tournament in a press conference yesterday.
