A person has been killed and six others have been injured when a gang of robbers opened fire at them at Ambaria village under Kalukhali upazila in Rajbari.
The deceased is identified as Safiuddin, 45, son of Elafat Mandol of the village, reports UNB.
Kalukhali police station Officer-in-Charge Nur-e-Alam said: “Around 10 to 12 robbers stormed into the house of one Shahabuddin around 2:30am on Monday.”
“They looted some gold ornaments, Tk10,000 cash, a motorcycle and other valuables from the house, keeping the inmates hostage at gunpoint,” he said.
The robbers fired several gunshots when the locals came to the rescue of the inmates, leaving Safiuddin dead on the spot and injuring the others.
The OC said the injured have been admitted to Pangsha Health Complex while the body has been sent it to Rajbari Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
