Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Gazipur unit, has announced a protest rally in Gazipur where BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to address a public rally on December 27.
“We will not allow Khaleda Zia in addressing the rally if BNP Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman will not withdraw his derogatory remarks on the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman or the party declared him busted from his post.”
The BCL leaders gave an ultimatum within December 27, BCL leaders announced it in a statement at Gazipur press club on Sunday.
BCL will occupy the ground where the BNP chairperson is scheduled to address rally, the statement reads.
In the written statement, Gazipur district Chhatra League convenor Hossain and city unit general secretary Amazon gave an ultimatum.
Gazipur district Chhatra joint convenor Sheikh Kamal, Dr Fahim, Hafizur Rahaman and other leaders were present during the press meet.
Khaleda Zia is scheduled to attend a BNP rally on December 27 at Bhaoal Badre Alam Government College ground in Gazipur.
Tarique Rahaman, Senior Vice-Chairman of BNP termed Bangladesh’s architect Bangabandhu a “razakar,” the anti-liberation element, at a programme in London.
BNP Vice-Chairman Tarique, who is wanted in several corruption and criminal cases in Bangladesh and has been in exile for six years, has recently turned quite a “historian” by giving fantastical and whimsical explanation of history.
