The government has launched free Wi-Fi (Wireless Internet Access) at Bangladesh secretariat.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Junaid Ahmed Polok inaugurated the service at the Cabinet Division on Sunday afternoon.
All the officials and visitors at the secretariat will be able to use the Wi-Fi service free of cost.
"Administrative complexities will be reduced through the expansion of information technology," said the junior minister while inaugurating the service.
According to Bangladesh Tele Regulatory Commission, the total number of internet subscribers in Bangladesh was 43m at the end of November, 2014. Of them, 41.51m had been using mobile internet and 0.25m were connected to the internet via WiMax.
