Police have arrested 15 Dhaka University admission aspirants when they were going to meet the vice chancellor to place their demands.
Sub-Inspector Saheb Ali of Nilkhet police outpost said the students were arrested as police had information that they would carry out subversive acts to the vice chancellor's house.
The arrestees have been kept at Shahbagh police station, said the SI.
"Police first tried to disperse the protesting students. But they tried to march towards the vice chancellor's residence defying police bar," he added.
Later, the admission seekers took position in different areas of the campus.
The students have been on protest for more than a month seeking reinstatement of the second time admission test facility.
On October 14, the university authorities decided not to allow any admission seeker to appear in its admission tests for first year honours courses more than once.
