Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) has started a cleaning operation as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity in the areas adjacent to the CEPZ.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police, Industrial Police, CEPZ fire station, Ansar and the local residents are jointly working in the operation.
Ahsan Kabir, manager of the CEPZ area, inaugurated the cleaning operation at the Bay Shopping Complex area on Saturday morning, according to a press release issued by the CEPZ.
CMP Commissioner Abdul Jalil Mondol, BEPZA Manager (Public Relations) Najma Binte Alamgir and investors of the CEPZ were also present among the others in the programme.
CEPZ, the first export processing zone of the country established in 1984, has 502 plots in its 453 acres land where 167 industries are in operation under both foreign and local leadership. More than 200,000 workers are working in the CEPZ.
