A concert by band Shunno will be held today at 5:30pm at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre in Dhanmondi.
Shunno, an alternative rock band formed in 2007, have released four albums and several singles. They hope to reach out to their audience through live performances including concerts at universities and other venues. Shunno have performed in almost every city in Bangladesh.
The band released their debut album “Notun Srote” under their own production house, Maroon Music. The title track from their second album “Shoto Asha” was chosen by leading telecom operator, Grameenphone, as the official theme song for the ICC World Cup 2011.
Shunno received awards like Best Band Award in 2008 at the Meril Prothom Alo Awards, the Citycell-Channel I Music Awards in 2009 and Citycell-Channel I Music Awards in 2011.
They have performed with several foreign artists including Jal, Atif Islam and Shafqat Amanat Ali.
The group’s present line-up includes Imrul Karim (vocal), Shaker Raza (guitar), Andrew Michael Gomes (bass guitar) and Rafatul Bari (drums).
