Brick field owners will get 5% Advance Income Tax (AIT) waiver in importing coal from India, to be used in brick kilns.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) issued a statutory regulatory order (SRO) in this regard yesterday, said an official seeking anonymity.
The government currently imposes 31% tax on imported coal. Brick field owners will not get the tax waiver if they import coal from China and Indonesia.
