The members of militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) were reportedly making drones in order to launch “deadly attacks” on important government establishments across the country, said the police.
Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan police endorsed the information to journalists during a media briefing at DMP media centre on Wednesday afternoon.
The disclouser was made after the members of Detective Branch of police arrested two ABT members with drone making equipments from the capital's Jatrabari area.
The arrestees are Tanjil Hossain Babu and Golam Maola Mohan.
According to DMP officials, the law enforcers arrested them on Tuesday night and seized equipment for making the remotely-controlled device.
Masudur said: “In primary investigation, they confessed that they were making plan to capture photos of key government infrastructures by the device in order to launch attacks on those.”
