A case has been filed over the killing of a Chhatra League activists in a clash between two factions of the ruling party's student wing at Chittagong University.
Hafizul Islam, first year student of Sangskrit department of the university, filed the case with Hathazari police station around 2:30am on Tuesday.
Tapos Sarker, an activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League was killed and four others injured during a factional clash at Chittagong University on Sunday.
Officer-in-Charge Md Ismail Hossain of the police station told the Dhaka Tribune that a case was filed naming 30 BCL activists and 10 to 12 unnamed persons in connection with the death of Taposh in Sunday's clash.
Following the incident, BCL activists laid siege to the administrative office of Chittagong University and confined the vice-chancellor for two and a half hours on Monday, demanding removal of the proctor and immediate arrest of the killers of fellow activist Tapos Sarkar.
The VC was freed following assurance that Proctor Siraj Ud Dowla would be removed within two days.
