Six persons have been killed in a collision among four vehicles in Sutang area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Habiganj.
At least 10 other people have also been injured in the collision among a truck, a jeep, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a tractor.
Of the deceased, four were identified as Naubal Bibi, 45; her daughter Ambia Khatun, 30; Ahmadul Haque, 60; and Yusuf Mia, 40.
Shayestaganj highway police station Officer-in-Charge Ejajur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune that the collision left two people dead and at least 10 injured on the spot in Sutang area around 7am on Tuesday.
The injured were admitted to Habiganj sadar hospital where four others succumbed to their injuries, said the OC.
He said vehicular movement on the highway remained suspended for one hour because of the accident.
Later, police and fire service personnel cleared the road.
