“Quader Molla’s son remarked that the Supreme Court killed his father. Such remarks were objectionable, similar to contempt of court and contradictory to the constitution.”
Awami League Advisory Council member Suranjit Sengupta yesterday said the recent remarks of Hasan Jamil, son of Quader Molla who was given capital punishment for crimes against humanity, on the review of his father’s verdict was tantamount to contempt of court.
"It is the responsibility of the government to ensure citizens' fundamental rights . . . No unruly and destructive activities in the name of anti-government movement will be allowed in Bangladesh."
The government will take stern action against the troublemakers who will try to infringe people's fundamental rights in any way, said Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Friday.
