A class six student has been killed when a speeding bus rammed his bicycle on Bashkhali road in the capital’s Shanir Akhra area on Friday.
The deceased is Akbar, a class-six student of Blue Bird School, son of Iqbal of Rasulpur area at Jatrabari.
The accident took place when a rashly driven bus of Bilash Paribahan rammed Akbar’s bicycle near Bashkhali area at Shanir Akhra around 4pm.
Local rushed the critically injured boy to a nearby hospital where doctors recommended him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Later, on duty doctors in DMCH declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Jatrabari Police Station Obony Shankar Kar endorsed the information to the Dhaka Tribune.
The bus was seized but the driver manages to flee from the scene, the official said.
The body was sent to the morgue for an autopsy, he added.
Preparation for lodging an unnatural death case was underway till filing the report at 8:30pm.
