Two persons have been killed and eight others injured when the Khulna-bound Sundarban Express hit a 'tomtom', locally made three wheeler, at Mouchak Rail Crossing under Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur.
Of the deceased, one was identified as Farid, 35. The identity of another could not be known immediately.
Saiful Islam, sub inspector (SI) of the Mouchak police outpost said: “Rajshahi-bound Sundarban Express knocked down the human hauler when it got stuck on the railway track around 10:15am on Friday.”
The wounded were rushed to nearby hospital and clinic for treatment.
