A prison guard has died after being electrocuted at Dhaka Central Jail on Thursday.
The deceased is Ratan Khan, 35.
Quoting the witnesses, DMCH police outpost in-Charge Mozammel Haque said: “Ratan came in contact with a live electric wire inside the staff quarter of the jail around 9am.”
Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead around 9:30am, added the official.
