Molla Sabira Sultana and Johura Akter Reshma created new national records in the Walton National Weightlifting Championship at National Sports Council gymnasium yesterday.
Sabira lifted 78 kilogrammes in the jerk to set the new national mark in the women’s 48-kg section. She lifted a total of 134 kgs in the snatch and jerk.
Reshma lifted 68 kgs in the jerk of the 44-kg section. She also lifted 53 kgs in the snatch.
