The Walton Smart TV Victory Day Volleyball comprising eight teams in the men’s section and the national women’s side split into two outfits - red and green - starts at Paltan Ground volleyball stadium today.
Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Air Force, Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Police are in Group A while Group B contains Power Development Board, Titas Gas, Bangladesh Navy and BKSP. Bangladesh Army are the defending champions. State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder will inaugurate the event as the chief guest.
In a press conference held at Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday, Bangladesh Volleyball Federation general secretary Ashikur Rahman Miku presented the details of the tournament. Walton additional director FM Iqbal bin Anwar Dawn and Abdur Rahim Bhuiyan, the director administration of National Sports Council, were also present on the occasion.
