13 BNP leaders indicted

A Dhaka court has framed charges against 13 BNP leaders in a case filed with Ramna police station for hindering police work and vandalising vehicles on January 13, 2010.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mahbubbur Rahman passed the order on Wednesday afternoon.

The court fixed March 10, next year for the deposition of prosecution witnesses.

Around 50 BNP leaders lead by Sultan Sallauddin Tuku, Habibun Nabi Khan Sohel and Mohammad Amirul Islam Alim, hindered police work and vandalised vehicles in Bijaynagar over the eviction of BNP Chairperson from her house.

Ramna police station's then officer-in-charge and sub-inspector were injured in the incident.

Later, SI Mohammad Imran Hossain field a case with the police station on the same day.

Investigation officer of the case submitted the charge sheet against 13 BNP leaders on August 10, 2011.
