Thirty shops, including jhut (garment factory waste) godowns have been gutted in a fire that broke out at Konabari Natunbazar in Gazipur.
The fire broke out around 5am on Tuesday morning.
Locals said the fire broke out at a shop in Konabari Natunbazar area and soon engulfed the nearby shops and jhut godowns.
Gazipur Fire Service Station Officer Shahin Alam said: “Two units from the fire service brought the blaze under control around 6:30am.”
“We are primarily estimating that the fire broke out from an electric short circuit,” he said.
