Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock at the demise of the National Film Award-winning actor Khalil Ullah Khan Khalil.
In a message of condolence, the premier said Khalil with his natural genius for acting won the hearts of the country's film viewers.
"His demise has created a vacuum in the country's cultural arena, which is never to be filled," said Sheikh Hasina.
The prime minister also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed her deep sympathy for the bereaved family members.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, at the National Film Award 2012 distribution ceremony on May 10, had taken the the responsibility for the treatment of Khalil Ullah Khan for his entire life.
The life time award-winning actor, Khalilullah Khan Khalil, died of heart ailments at Square Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday morning.
A powerful actor of silver screen, Khalil had been suffering from various other diseases for a long time.
