A case has been filed against 14 people, including 10 officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, in connection with the seizure of over 124 kgs gold, the biggest-ever gold haul at Shahjalal International Airport, in 2013.
Customs Inspector Mustafa Jamal filed the case on Friday night following an investigation by the probe committee formed by the Customs Intelligence.
The six-member committee, led by director general of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate Mainul Khan, was formed on September 22, 2013 following the gold recovery.
On July 24, 2013, Customs officials at Shahjalal Airport seized 1,064 gold bars weighing around 124 kgs from the luggage chamber of a Biman flight.
