Every household in the country will have gas and electricity within the next three years, said State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid Bipu.
“We are working towards building the ‘Sonar Bangla’ of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said adding that Gazipur’s popular leader Ahsanullah Master had not died but continued to live in the hearts of the people of the country.
Nasrul Hamid was delivering a speech as the chief guest at an event to mark the 64th birth anniversary of Ahsanullah Master yesterday. The social and cultural organisation ‘Chetona’ arranged the event at Tongi rail station.
With the president of the organisation Zahid Al Mamun in the chair, the event was also addressed by parliament member Zahid Ahsan Rasel, MD of Haq & Co Adam Tamiji Haq, former MP Kazi Mojammel Haq, freedom fighter Fazlul Haq and convenor of district Swecchashebok League Matiur Rahman Moti among others.
