There is a record growth in the number of Bangladeshi students with 730 more pupils enrolling in different German universes in the winter semester of 2013-14.
The number of newly enrolled students was higher by over 500 compared to those of two years ago, says a German embassy press release on Thursday.
Around 72% of Bangladeshi students go to Germany for programs in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) related subjects and fields, it reads.
In a joint effort to further promote educational opportunities in Germany, the German Embassy organised a two-day info sessions at the University of Dhaka and the Chittagong University of Engineering & Technogony on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
The German representatives covered all topics with regard to "Higher Education in Germany".
Study programmes on offer, admission procedures, student life in Germany, scholarship opportunities and the visa procedure were discussed in the programmes attended by several hundred curious students and faculty members.
Both events saw lively question and answer sessions with the audience covering a range of interesting details.
A third information session was held in collaboration with "Die Sprache" German language school in Chittagong, which cooperates with the Embassy and the DAAD on numerous occasions.
