Update : 01 Dec 2014, 12:37 PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave Dhaka on Tuesday for Kuala Lumpur on a three-day official visit at the invitation of her Malaysian counterpart Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak.

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali told the reporters at his office on Monday.

The premier is making the visit aiming at further bolstering bilateral ties in trade and investment and expediting export of Bangladeshi manpower, the minister said.

He said four memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed during the Prime Minister's visit to Malaysia.

The MoUs include agreement on relaxing visa requirements for diplomats and official passport holders, two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on tourism and cultural cooperation and a protocol amending a 2012 MoU on employment of Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia.

During her visit, the premier will hold bilateral talks with her Malaysian counterpart on Wednesday at the prime minister's office in Putrajaya, said Mahmood.

Export of manpower, trade and investment will be focused on the agenda at the talks, he said.

Sheikh Hasina will also hold a discussion with Malaysian entrepreneurs to encourage them to come up with newer investment proposals for Bangladesh, said Ali.

Nearly 4.50 lakh Bangladeshis are working in Malaysia, one of the largest labour markets of Bangladesh.
