Journalist Zaglul Ahmed Chy no more

Noted Journalist Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury, former managing director and chief editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), has died in a road accident at Kawran bazaar intersection in the capital on Saturday night.

He was 66, when he met the accident. Chowdury's former colleague Aminur Rahman told BSS that Zaglul was critically injured while he was getting down from a bus at Kawran bazaar intersection He was coming from his work place the daily Financial Express at Paltan. He was rushed by pedestrians to a nearby clinic. Later, he was shifted to Comfort clinic at Green road where the attending doctors pronounced him dead at 8 pm. His body has been kept at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) mortuary.  Rahman also said Zaglul's body will be brought to the National Press club tomorrow and his namaj-e-janaza is likely to be held after Asr prayer.  Zaglul is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter.  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a message of condolence expressed her deep shock at death of journalist Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury and conveyed her sympathy to the bereaved family members. Jatiya Press Club president Kamal Uddin Ahmed Sabuj and General Secretary Abdal Ahmed condoled the death of Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury. They conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
