At least 50 people have been injured as two groups of villagers locked in a clash over fishing at Khairgaon village under Chatak upazila of the district.
Sub-Inspector Champak Dham said Hushiar Ali and Abu Bakar of the village had a longstanding dispute over the ownership of a water body.
"Both the groups went to catch fish in the water body on Friday morning. At one stage of altercation, they locked in a clash that left at least 50 people of both groups inured," he added.
The identities of the injured could not be known immediately.
