Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend two video conferences with district officials from cabinet division after cabinet meeting in every month.
Cabinet Secretary Musharraf Hossain Bhyian confirmed it to the reporters after the cabinet meeting on Monday.
The cabinet secretary said: “Prime Minster will hold the video conferences after cabinet meeting on Monday and cabinet division will arrange the conference with help from the access to information project under prime minister's office.”
This initiative has been taken to build better communication with the district officials and give directives directly to them for stimulating development of the district, he added.
He said Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina has already attended video conferences with divisional and police commissioners of Rajshahi and Sylhet.
She also addressed another video conference with officials of district development committee of Moulvibazar and Pabna, he added.
Cabinet meeting sources confirmed that prime minister asked concerned authorities to be alert for video conference any time from her office.
If necessary, any minister can participate in the video conference with districts level officials, the secretary said.
In last couple of years cabinet division arranged 225 30-minute video conferences.
