A man was killed under the wheels of a train at Dhirasram Railway Station in Gazipur on Friday evening.
The victim was Faridul Islam,27, of Baghervita village in Jhinaigati upazila of Sherpur.
A Dhaka bound train ran Faridul over when he was crossing the rail track, said Ziaur Rahman, assistant sub-inspector of Tongi railway police out post.
The railway police recovered the body sliced into four pieces and sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy, he said.
Some papers found in the victim's pocket helped to know his identity, he added.
Contacted, family members said Faridul left his home for Dhaka in search of a job few days ago.
