The 15th death anniversary of the noted poet and social reformer Sufia Kamal is being observed across the country in a befitting manner on Thursday.
Different social and cultural organisations have taken various programmes to observe the day.
A memorial discussion will be held at CIRDAP auditorium in the capital.
Sufia Kamal, a torchbearer of the country's culture, tradition, Liberation War and Language Movement, was born on June 20, 1911. She died on November 20, 1999.
The poet fought for women's rights and liberty that later turned into a movement against social injustice, superstition and religious intolerance.
