Two people have been killed in a head-on collision between a pick-up van and a CNG-run auto rickshaw on Dhaka–Sylhet highway in Madhobpur upazila.
The deceased are Mohammad Ali, 26, son of Anu Mia of Kandura village and Mohshin Mia, 42, son of Munshob Ali of Madhabpur.
Quoting the locals, highway police station Officer-in-Charge Ejaj Rahman said: “The Dhaka bound pick-up van collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw near Al-Amin Hotel area around 11am, leaving the two dead on spot and another injured.”
On information, police recovered the bodies from the spot.
The injured were admitted to Habiganj sadar hospital.
