An eight-year-old boy was killed in a road accident in the port city’s Baizid area yesterday.
The deceased, identified as Md Rakib, son of Nesar Ali, is a resident of Amtol Colony of the area, said police sources. Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost Nayek Sheikh Farhadul Haque said the boy was run over by a speedy truck in front of Mukta Washing Factory at Sher Shah in the area around 11 am while he was crossing the road.
The boy was whisked off to CMCH in a critical state where on duty doctors pronounced him dead, the Nayek continued.
