A schoolgirl who has been abducted 19 days back from Gazipur’s Tongi rescued from Moghbazar in the capital yesterday.
Police also arrested a man who was identified as Sohel Rana Babul, 22, in this connection.
Yesterday, Sohel Rana was produced before a court from where he sent to jail.
Sub-Inspector of Tongi police station Sahadat Hossain said a gang of abductors had kidnapped the schoolgirl, a student of Class IX at Rajuk Uttara Model School and College, from in front of her residence on October 27.
Father of the victim filed a case with Tongi police station on the following day.
Acting on a tip off, a team of police conducted a raid at T&T colony area of Moghbadar in the early hours of the day and rescued the girl.
During preliminary interrogation, Babul told police that the girl was willingly staying at his residence as they were in a relationship.
