The 13th International Short & Independent Film Festival (ISIFF), Dhaka 2014 is going to begin from December 4 to 11 with the theme of “Free Cinema, Free Expression”.

The festival being organised by Bangladesh Short Film Forum is to open the door to the world of short fiction, documentaries and experimental films for local audience, where 200 films from 50 countries, including Bangladesh, would be screened.

ISIFF Chairman Nasiruddin Yousuff Bacchu in a press conference held at National Press Club confirmed it, saying the government should raise donation for film making sector while Tk30 lakh on average is not sufficient for a film.

During the eight-day event, the films will be screened simultaneously in five different auditoriums in the capital. The venues are National Museum, Central Public Library, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Jagannath University and Russian Cultural Centre (Dhanmondi).

On the last day of the festival, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu will give away reward to the best film makers.
