Bangladesh basketball team enjoyed the lone success of the day in the ongoing Asian Beach Games being hosted by Phuket, Thailand yesterday.
The Bangladesh cagers lost the first match against Qatar 21-9 but bounced back to winning ways with a 20-10 victory over Maldives. Bangladesh will play Turkmenistan and Afghanistan today.
Bangladesh swimmer Mahmudun Nabi Nahid participated in the 5km marathon swimming and finished at 15th out of 20 swimmers. He completed his swim in 1 hour, 18 minutes and 9 seconds.
In beach handball Bangladesh lost against hosts Thailand 22-10.
In wrestling Mohammed Dipu fought in the 70kg event and lost to Mongolia, Iran and Korea to get eliminated in the first round.
