More bones recovered in Rana Plaza rubble

Update : 15 Nov 2014, 01:07 PM

More human bones have been found under the rubbles of Rana Plaza after 18 months since one of the world’s largest factory disasters occured.

Some street children found the bones and an identity card while they were collecting scraps from the rubbles of the Rana Plaza area at Savar on Saturday afternoon.

Being informed, police rushed in and recovered the bones from the site.

Savar Model police station Officer-in-Charge Mostafa Kamal said the bones of the identity card holder could not be identified as the alphabets on the card were almost erased.

"We are assuming that the name of the ID card holder is Jewel," he added.

The Army identified 261 out of 329 people who were reportedly missing after the collapse. The army declared the end of the search on May 13 after recovering 1,115 bodies. 234 dead bodies retrieved from the site were buried at the Jurain Graveyard.
