A Feni court has issued arrest warrant against 27 fugitive accused in the murder case of Fulgazi Upazila Chairman Ekramul Haque Ekram.
Judicial Magistrate Alamgir Mohammad Fariqui issued the warrant after receiving the charge sheet against 56 accused in the case on Wednesday morning.
The court fixed November 26 for the next hearing of the case.
Feni model police station Officer-in-Charge and also Investigation Officer of the case, Abul Kalam Azad said: “A total of 29 accused were sent to the jail back when they were produced before the court earlier in the day.”
Ekram, who was also president of Fulgazi upazila Awami League, was shot and burned alive in his car in broad daylight in Feni town on May 20.
Following the incident, police have arrested 29 people including Jihad Chowdhury, an alleged mastermind and joint secretary of Fulgazi upazila AL unit, and BNP leader Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury Minar, the alleged financier.
