Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and Gazipur traffic police have filed a total of 380 cases against the owners and drivers of unfit vehicles in the last two days in the district.
Assistant superintendent of Gazipur traffic police, Shakhawat Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday.
Hossain said: “Some 265 cases were filed on Monday and 94 cases till by Tuesday noon while conducting the drives at the key six points of the district.”
Besides, 54 vehicles and three CNG-driven auto-rickshaws were seized for illegal parking and invalid documents respectively, he said.
Moreover, a BRTC bus was also seized as its driving license was fake,” the police official added.
Executive magistrate Sheikh Sajia Afroz filed 21 cases and fined Tk18,500 on Monday.
