Indian Border Security Force (BSF) picked up two Bangladeshi citizens from the Indo-Bangla frontier areas of Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga and Baliadangi upazila of Thakurgaon yesterday and the previous day.

In Damurhuda upazila, a patrol team from BSF 113 battalion detained one named Firoz Hossain, 25, son of Raihan Miah, of Shingnagar village in Jibanagar upazila, from Razapur frontier yesterday noon when he entered Indian territory getting a hot chase from local Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members to shun arrest while he was trying to enter his homeland with 600 bottles of phensidyl.

Chuadanga 6 BGB battalion Commander SM Maniruzzaman confirmed the detention, telling that he has already sent a letter to the BSF seeking return back of Firoz.

In Baliadangi upazila, another BSF team caught a Bangladeshi national, namely Muktarul Islam, 20, a resident of Baro Charuigati village of the upazila, very near to Beurjhari border of the upazila around 8pm on Sunday on charge of intruding into the country.

Confirming it, BGB 30 battalion Operation Officer Major ATM Nazmul Huda said in response to his letter a flag meeting between BSF and BGB was held around 5pm, where the former informed that Muktarul had been handed over to the Indian police.
