At least twenty five people have been injured in a clash between two groups of villagers at Baluchar under Sirajdikhan upazila in Munshiganj.
Moreover, some 40 houses were vandalised during the clash.
Sirajdikhan police station Officer-in-Charge Abul Bashar said: “There was a long time enmity between Baluchar UP Awami League President Alek Chan Munshi and Vice President Nasir Uddin Molla Member over establishing supremacy in the area.”
“Following the feud, their supporters locked into the clash on Monday morning, leaving 25 people injured.”
Later, police fired 10 rounds of rubber bullets and four rounds of tear shells to bring the situation under control.
He said: “Additional police forces were deployed in the area to keep the situation under control.”
The injured were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka and Munshiganj.
