Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, 21, is said to be playing the heroine for the sequel to “Rock On!!,” an award-winning film about friendship and, well, music.
Rumour has it that the movie’s producers are looking for a young actress with a vibe to carry the leading role, as well as someone who can sing. Since “Rock On!!” was a musically-charged film so its sequel would probably head in the same direction.
Alia made her musical debut performing AR Rahman’s songs in the Imtiaz Ali movie “Highway.” She also sang in “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.”
Shujaat Saudagar is set to direct the film, as Abhishek Kapoor, who helmed the first film, is busy working on another project called “Fitoor.”
