Lawyers at central jail to meet Kamaruzzaman
A five-member lawyer’s team have arrived at the Dhaka Central Jail to meet war crimes convict Mohammad Kamaruzzaman.
The team arrived at the jail around 10am on Thursday.
Jamaat hartal underway peacefully
The countrywide 48-hour hartal enforced by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is underway peacefully for the second day.
The hartal had began around 6am on Wednesday and will end at 6am on Friday.

Obama seeks $6.2 billion for Ebola fight
President Barack Obama is asking Congress for $6.2 billion in emergency funds to confront Ebola at its source in West Africa and to secure the United States against any possible spread.
Administration officials say $2 billion would be apportioned to the United States Agency for International Development and $2.4 billion would go to the department of health and human services.
