A two-day classical dance festival is scheduled to be held on the premises of Chhayanaut, a leading cultural organisation, from tomorrow. This is the fourth time Chhayanaut is organising the festival.
Manipuri, Odissi, Bharat Natyam and Kathak, an array of prominent classical dance forms will be performed throughout the festival. Apart from Chhayanaut students and teachers, eminent dance artists such as Tamanna Rahman, Munmun Ahmed, Warda Rihab, Amit Chowdhury and other guests from outside Dhaka will perform at the festival.
Chhayanaut students will also be performing in the festival.
At the beginning of the programme, prodips (clay oil lamps) will be lit. The glory of Manipuri dance will be manifested in all its beauty, specific values and conventions. Kathak will be the featured style in the occasion like the previous arrangements.
Solo and duet performances will also mark the classical dancers’ event.
