Indian Border Security Force (BSF) detained a Bangladeshi national in Naogaon yesterday.
The detained Omar Ali, son of Niaz Uddin is from the Nitpur Diarapara village in the Porsha upazila.
The BSF members from the Harishchandrapur camp in India detained Omar when he intruded the Indian territory while fishing in the Velar Dara (Shitla) Basin on the Nitpur border around 2:00pm, said Naogaon 14 BGB Company Commander Harunur Rashid.
The BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) and BSF held a flag meeting near the Nitpur Border Pillar No 230, with BGB commandar Harunur Rashid and Harishchandrapur camp in-charge PK Roy representing the Bangladesh and India sides respectively.
Citing the output of the meeting, Harunur Rashid said the BSF sent Omar to the Habipur Police Station in the Maldah district of India.
