International Crimes Tribunal Prosecutor Ziad Al-Malum has said there is no scope to file a review petition against the final verdict awarded to Jamaat-e-Islami leader Kamaruzzaman for war crimes. He made the statement while giving his reaction before the media on Monday morning, immediately after the Appellate Division had given its verdict. He said: “The tribunal's verdict has been established again in the Appellate Division.”
Another prosecutor said: "After getting the copy of Supreme Court order on Quader Molla's review petition, the matter will be cleared."
The judgement copy on Quader Molla's review petition is yet to be released from the Supreme Court.
Earlier in the day, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court gave death penalty to the former al-Badr man for committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
