Bollywood actor Aamir Khan did an episode on LGBT people in the country, but his initiative has landed him in trouble.
A city based advocate Mandeep Kaur has requested the local court to intervene and send Aamir a notice for going against the Supreme Court judgement on Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. The advocate claims that Aamir violated the Supreme Court judgment when he decided to speak for the right of the LGBT community on “Satyamev Jayate 3.”
The Civil Court Judge Jaswinder Singh sent a legal notice to Aamir to file his response by December 19. The petition states that a decree must be passes declaring that Aamir went against the law. “Satyamev Jayate’s” LGBT episode was telecast on October 19 on Star Plus. Apparently, by talking about the rights of the LGBT community the actor in a way went against the law cited by the Supreme Court.
